Cheap Cheesy Pasta!

It 's easy to eat on a budget if you know how! I'm going to give you some of my favourite recipes that will allow you to eat tasty food without breaking the bank!

This recipe is perfect for a night in with your dorm or roommates!

Yummy cheesy pasta!

100g pasta
100g peas or sweetcorn
200g precooked smokey bacon
500ml semi-skimmed milk
40g margarine
30g plain flour
160g cheddar cheese
some seasonings of your choice (salt, pepper, spices, herbs etc.)

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C/ gas mark 6

Cook the pasta until "al dente" or done. But just before it is
done, add the vegetables into the saucepan.

While the pasta is cooking, place the flour, the margarine and
the milk into another clean saucepan and stir well until smooth.

Set the sauce on a cooker and start to boil, stirring
continuously until the sauce thickens. Keep simmering until
smooth.

Add the cheese to the sauce, and stir in in.

Remove the pasta and veg from the cooker, and drain it using a
colander. Put the pasta and veg back in the saucepan and mix in the bacon and cheese sauce.

Mix in all up then pour it into the oven proof tray, and put it in the oven for 10 minutes.

Take the tray out, take the pasta out the tray and put on a
plate, then serve.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe, if you make it eave me a comment

Food in a Mug!

Tired, hungover or just plain lazy? These quick and easy recipes in a mug are sure to fill a hole! I've selected a few of my favourite recipes to share with you; I know you'll love them just as much as my friends and I do! Enjoy!

Brownie in a Mug Recipe
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons of granulated or caster sugar, whatever you have!
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons of flour

It's so simple to make, all you have to do is mix the dry ingredients together in a mug (that's microwave safe, obviously!) then add the wet ingredients and mix it all together! Pop this in your microwave for 60-90 seconds (depending on how gooey you want your brownie to be) and Voila, a delicious and simple brownie in a mug! Try it with double cream, ice cream or warm custard for a cozy sweet treat!

The next recipe is perfect the morning after a wild night out! After all breakfast is the most important meal of the day and what better way to satisfy your breakfeasty needs than with an omelette in a mug!

Omelette in a Mug Recipe
  • 2 large eggs - beaten
  • 2 or 3 Tablespoons of grated cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons of chopped ham (or cooked pieces of bacon)
  • 1 Tablespoon diced green bell pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon diced onion
  • salt and pepper to taste

This recipe is so easy to make, simply grease your mug with a little bit of oil or butter and mix your ingredients together! This breakfast treat only takes 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave! In no time at all you will have a delicious omelette!

Welcome to the blog!

Heya everyone, my name's India, Beyonce for short. I decided over the summer to put together this… snazzy blog to document the banterous Uni life of my friends and I. We'll be recording ourselves pretty much 24/7 (excluding our time on the toilet and napping and such, much to your disappointment). These videos will then be put up here along with photos of us and other little posts like this so stay tuned!
